My answer to this typically is, if you’ve thought about it long enough to ask yourself this question, it’s very likely you are. There are really no rules to say who is and who isn’t a pup or even what constitutes being a pup. Pup is a lot about making it what you want it to be. If the thought of being a pup or on all fours gives you a mental or physical “boner”, then it’s likely you are a pup.
Not everyone that starts out as a pup necessarily stays there. I’ve known a number of people that have started out as pups and then figured out through those experiences that maybe they’re more like a tiger or a furry and choose to go down those roads instead of remaining a pup. There is nothing wrong with this. One of the best thing about pup play is it allows you to really get in-touch with your inner-self and discover things about yourself that you may not have ever known or realized.
It doesn’t matter what your gender or gender identification is, sexual orientation, what age you are, or what body type you are, you can be a pup. You should be proud of whatever it is that makes you a pup. It’s not something you should have to hide or should feel ashamed about. It’s actually a very wonderful thing. Your pup-self is a part of you, and is equally important with all the other things that makes you unique and makes you who you are. Your pup identity is yours and no one can take that away from you. Everyone decides how they want to express their pup-ness and there is no right or wrong way to do this.
